This is a sweet story to my senses. For years, small business owners have prayed for the day when they would be free from the parasitic love affair of some lawyers you meet at the corner.
Until recently, when the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Bello Mahmud, said Nigerians no longer need a lawyer to register their businesses with the commission.
He said on Thursday at the second presidential economic communication workshop in Abuja.
Mahmud stated that the commission had made the process of registration easier as entrepreneurs can register by themselves at their offices.
As if that good news was not good enough, he further added:
“We have reduced the cost of registering a business by 50 percent. You don’t need a lawyer to register your business for you anymore”.
“You can now do it yourself. The process is easy now.”
You can also now register your business anywhere at our offices in Lagos, Kano and Enugu,” he said.
Hmm, thank God I love my lawyer. We share a symbiotic business-love affair. The great news is for me is that I can now easily register my business with less hassles and costs.
Although, the Registrar-General failed to mention how fast and reliable service to be provided by the Commission will be, but I will choose to be hopeful for the best.
Let’s Go Register!
And we’ll live purplly ever after.
